Getreadywithmemamma country Christmas tree search party šššā¤ļøāļøš¤. This time of year can a be a tricky time for many. Itās a time that can be filled with loved ones, traditions and whimsy. It can also be a time of year of reminders of loss, loneliness and pain. Sometimes we focus on the splendor of the Spirit of the season. Sometimes we focus on the presents and the tinsel. It really is ok to do both. Itās ok to be joyful, to enjoy some treats and ā treat yo self Parks and Recs styleā. We need joy in our lives and we need to celebrate. You canāt give from an empty cup. However, itās also a time to spread the love around to everyone and not just yourself and your close ones. Itās a time to pick a charity to participate in like Feed My Starving Children, or Lutheran World relief did you know that you can buy families things like cows, goats and even water wells? Maybe go in for some of that as a family instead of gifts this year. Maybe make your table a table of gratefulness at dinner time where you find something that you are grateful for each day of December. Itās good to give and each gift should be valued. Itās ok if what you give is the shiny something, or the wanted toy for children of all ages. Itās just that the giving should flow both ways like the Sea of Galilea vs the Dead Sea. The only difference between the two was that the Dead Sea only takes, it just sits there and collects water and because of it it has one of the highest concentrations of salt in any body of water. It would be like drinking salt if you tried it. The Sea of Galilee is almost identical in geographic traits, it just flows and while it does take water it also gives it, pretty much the same amounts each way. This is one of the most balanced bodies of water in the world. So, itās ok to receive, it is ok to get joy. You just need to remember to give and have your family give too. We are made for it.
