Getreadywithmemamma higher order thinking. I’ve been thinking about this without trying to think about it so, when I heard it today and was referred to as doing it, I thought yep, now there’s a thought. My personality is analytical. I, literally, remember being a three year old in the car with my Mom and asking around ten questions in a row. Granted, this is a normal stage of development. I just never stopped. I’ve never thought of myself as uber intelligent, there were plenty of brilliant people around me always in classes. I could swim in class, but, I certainly wasn’t setting the highest marks and definitely not testing the highest. I was, however, asking the questions. Sometimes out loud, mostly in the quiet recesses of my own mind. I know quiet and Jula don’t mix well; I’m usually externally churning something out there. But, internally, there is also a quiet murmur normally happening and it explains eureka like cadences in conversations with me, where all of a sudden splat, out comes an answer. I’ve been reading results of personality tests so some introspection is in order. But, higher level thinking... it’s what I think we all need to find meaning and purpose in the chaos. We Neeeeeed our stories to make sense. It’s why women talk, why toddlers gab ,why men chatter away and it’s why humans breathe. We need it. There must be a why to the way. There must be an answer to the why. We need it. Mammas spend a lot of time in the quite recesses of their own minds; if not, when they are listening to their children, when they are trying to fall asleep too. Our minds are constantly going with thoughts, worries and feelings about our children and families. We need meaning and Getreadywithmemamma is here to help with that. It’s here to give meaning to what has been happening under your roof, to give inspiration to what could be happening under your roof and to help you to find the courage to reach beyond your roof and to challenge yourself to add meaning to your community in big ideas like careers and service and in bigger ideas like self expression and art. We need it.
